The Friends of Manning's Pit

The Friends of Manning's Pit Community Group have led campaigns to save the fields since 2015 - they are now owned by local Charity the Pilton Green Man CIO (Charity no 1170742 ). We now run the management and maintenance of Manning's Pit and organise promotional and fundraising events. These fields have been loved by generations of Pilton, Bradiford and Barnstaple people from the writer H H Munro (Saki) back in the 19th Century to the local community in the present day.

The Big Help Out

To those who came along on May 8th - a big thank you to everyone of you who braved the weather.

A message from the Head of Royal Correspondence - read about it on our Blog

This was the day when the Royal Family were asking people all across Britain to volunteer in ways that will help their local community. Many brave supporters came along and gave us a hand on this special day. It was great to meet you and thank you yet again.

The RAF Community Plate

We were very proud to be presented with the RAF Community Plate on Monday May 15th at Barnstaple Guildhall by the Mayor of Barnstaple, Cllr Louisa York.

Our volunteers couldn’t do much work in the rain – most jobs weren’t suitable in the wet – but some important weeding was done and we signed up a number of new volunteers for the future.
