Holly's Poem
Wales
I was four when I learned the rainbow song,
I was four when I saw my first rainbow,
I was four when I got told there was a pot of gold,
At the end of the rainbow.
One day it was raining heavily,
Hearing nothing but hail stones slamming,
Against the caravan window,
I thought to myself,
When will this rain go?
I was waiting on the ledge when I first saw the sun,
The whole room lit up,
It's time for some fun!
"Come on Maddie, let's go run in the sun, and let's have
fun",
Tweet, tweet, pretty bird.
The atmosphere is so much brighter,
It's even lighter,
I searched for miles for a pot of gold,
It looks like it's getting further away,
The hilly luxurious view is lovely, I must say,
But it's nowhere to be seen.
I was four when I got told there was a pot of gold,
At the end of the rainbow,
It's still nowhere to be seen,
In Wales I will return to try to find
The pot of gold, I won't let this one fold.
