Winner of
the First Prize
for
The Shaman
I'm
originally from London but grew up in the
Westcountry.
I now
live in Plymouth where I'm part of a
community team which manage a 35 hectare
urban Local Nature Reserve.
I'm also
one of the founding members of a small
writers group called Ocean City Writers
who regularly attend literary events and
open mic nights around the city.
I won the
Plymouth Literature Festival "Flash
Fiction Slam" in 2019 & also in the
same year had a short story published in"
A Flash of Silver Green", an international
anthology of short stories on an
environmental theme.
I first
read Saki's short stories when I was a
teenager and have been re-reading them
ever since. One of my favourite stories
has always been "Gabriel-Ernest", which
was the inspiration for my own story "The
Shaman".
