Marka
Rifat lives in north-east Scotland and
has been a great admirer of Saki’s
writing since an early introduction to
his short stories by her mother. Marka
writes stories, poems, plays and
articles.
Recently
commended in the Toulmin and Janet
Coats Memorial prizes and featured in
the 2021 John Byrne Award, her work
appears in more than 20 US, UK and
Australian anthologies. She began
creative writing after careers in
broadcast journalism and corporate
communications.
